Review of Scream 3 (2000) by Brian T — 29 Jan 2013
Many consider this to be the worst of the series; I say it's the best. Sure there are flaws in the film like any other movie, but this movie deserves much more praise than what's it earned so far.
The idea of explaining more of Sidney's mother's backstory is an interesting idea that showed us why (SPOILER ALERT!) Billy and Stu from the first film went on their killing spree and why Roman is trying to finish Sidney once and for all.
It gives the audience more of an understanding as to why this is all happening to Sidney instead of just some random insane person trying to kill her for no other reason. While the backstory is revealing itself to the characters, there's a chance that maybe Sidney is the killer, or is beginning to go insane due to the pressure of her past.
How can Sid escape this out of control roller coaster that her life is becoming while her friends are getting stalked and killed by a masked killer? Sidney must face her most difficult challenge yet by facing off against her own family and must try to move on even though her past is holding her back.
