Review of Scream 3 (2000) by Jim W — 13 Apr 2011
While Stab 3 is being made, a new killer is on the loose killing off the cast. He's also targeting Sidney (Neve Campbell) as well.
Scream 3 is the weakest of the Scream films due to a few reasons; such as, a weaker new cast, Kevin Williamson's humor missing and the movie being more of a bad horror film than a spoof to a bad horror film.
We're also supposed to believe that there's a technology that lets you sound like anyone you want by simply stealing there voice. So the killer can call someone making believe he's Dewey (David Arquette) for instance. Which can be creepy but not too believable since when was this technology even invented ?
Despite all it's flaws the movie has it's moments where it's scary or fun even. Parker Posey as Jennifer, an actress playing Gale Weathers in Stab 3 is a new cast member, that shines at least. Hell, she's the only new addition to the cast, that is a good addition. She's funny and she has chemistry with Courtney Cox.
