Review of Scream 3 (2000) by Jedi C — 06 Dec 2012
The franchise gets messed up without Kevin Williamson's intelligently creative writing. Scream 3 may have some pretty clever moments, but it lacks the freshness of the first two which were great. It especially lacks the intelligent plotting and the suspenseful feeling of the first two.
Stab 3 has totally misguided the Stab concept. We don't need actors playing actors or actresses playing actresses. Scream fans deserve better characters and a better setting than Hollywood. If Roman is Sidney's half brother, wouldn't there be a better reason her mom have given her up? Doesn't that mean she had a boyfriend before Sidney's actual dad because who banged her? And If so, why didn't she give him up for his boyfriend? That is just poorly constructed character development - Not since the Scream franchise is stale without Kevin Williamson's magically suspenseful and intelligent writing.
