Review of Scream 3 (2000) by Joel R — 08 Apr 2011
A perfunctory sequel with a different screenwriter producing a script that lacks much of the witty dialogue and borderline parody scenes Kevin Williamson brought to the table in the first two entries. As such the whole thing comes off as a bit stagnant and predictable with few highlights after the opening sequence.
This made more annoying by the frequent self references of "oh its the last film in a trilogy ANYBODY can die even main characters" but all they do is murder new characters we couldn't care less about.
This is something that oddly even the worst slashers seem to get right. Mix that with an eye roll worthy retcon that makes no sense and you have the worst flick in the franchise thus far.
