Review of Scream 3 (2000) by Adrienne L — 15 Apr 2011
By far the weakest link in the series. Why Neve wasn't available for a full shoot doesn't matter. Her absence hurt the flow of the film. I mean the franchise is based around her character. And while the revelations about her deceased mother were interesting, the finale of the picture wasn't.
Despite some humerous performances by Jenny McCarthy and Parker Posey to lighten the mood the rest of the cast were horrible. This movie took itself way too serieously. Even the opening sequence was terrible. Neve was good in her scenes. That is when she had them. But I was tired of Dewey and Gale by chapter 2.
A huge let down to a series that gets worse with each passing sequel. Apparently Kevin Williamson wasn't available to write the entire script. It showed. Ditto for his efforts on part 4 (just out). I'd say 3 and 4 are on par with being close to the same movie. Boring.
