Review of Scream 2 (1997) by Leslie M — 11 Apr 2012
"Scream 2" is what a sequel should indeed be, an improvement of the original on what it did wrong or make it bigger and better to a perfect film, while continuing the story without feeling like a forced improvement.
Thus, Scream 2 succeeds in every category. The opening is not better put on par with the first, It is scarier, the body count is higher and is bloodier, it's funnier, and the twist really caught me off guard.
It's certainly more entertaining than the first one, and while the first film is more well made, this is surprisingly my favorite of the four.
