Review of Scream (1996) by Obby360 — 11 Mar 2015
Its original take of mixing old and new, gives this film modern classic status.
Surprisingly it takes itself serious enough, despite the joke on the bad horror films of the past- which is the main reason for its success. It doesn't copy past Wes Craven or John Carpenter classics, it stands alone.
With a good mix of tensions and scares, it gives the horror fans something to jump about, but it still has a smart story behind the killer and a good heroine.
Scream is by far one of the best horror films of the past century that has given us memorable scenes.
