Review of Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015) by Anthony K — 04 Mar 2016
It's not easy to know what to expect from films like this. They get a lot of hype, they seem entertaining and you hope it's a good one even if you have your doubts. There has been some good zombie comedies. "Shaun of the Dead" was great, "Zombieland" was all right.
After the fist scene you know what kind of film you are dealing with. A film that's easy to predict, a film that's throwing in simple humor and a film that's never gonna be a good one. Some boy scouts are saving the world this time. They are not the coolest bunch, naturally. They want girls and they wants to get cooler. Everything you think will happen, happens here, just as ordered.
The hot girl on the cover was not that hot and this was a disappointing film even if I never had much faith in it. It looks all right, it got some entertainment value and a few things work out. It's like a b-movie with great founds.
4 out of 10 YOLO zombies.
