Review of Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015) by Ryan Y — 01 Nov 2015
I really wanted to like this movie. I know how much work goes into it for everyone. But I also have a social conscience and don't want people to pay for something that is not going to deliver. Movies are way too expensive nowadays, young people can barely afford to pay their rent let alone spend 30 bucks for a movie and popcorn.
This movie exemplifies the problem in hollywood today. Everyone is trying to make a buck off of the back of middle class young people, so they keep dishing out the same bad stuff over and over again in a genre that attracts large audiences (zombie themes - see Walking Dead) but without any concern for story, plot, or perfornance.
Additionally, people in hollywood who shouldn't even necessarily be working, keep getting hired again and again, because they're from a show business family or they're in the gay hollywood click.
