Review of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) by Wisaaka — 18 Aug 2010
I've got to say that this was the most fun I've had at the movies in a long, long time. You often get heavily marketed films telling you that critics say it's an important film, or it's amazing, or any number of snobby film critic words. This was just a great time. I've long since given up on rating films based on how "great" of a film they are and concentrate on how much I am entertained. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is extremely entertaining and the only reason I didn't give it a 10 is that very few films should ever be rated at the extreme ends of the scale.
This movie was a blast from the opening Universal Pictures (in 8-bit) screen and fanfare, through all the video game and pop culture references all the way to the "boss fight". It's highly enjoyable and even my wife enjoyed it thoroughly.
