Review of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) by Itseverywhere — 13 Aug 2010
A truly fantastic adaption of the comics, Scott Pilgrim is directed and acted almost perfectly. Each character fits their role to a T, and the numerous all feel fresh and interesting. The fact the movie blends comedy, romance, and action without any one feeling weakened by the other two is fantastic.
The movie does a masterful job of cutting down the story to a manageable length, which, when looking at the sheer quantity of source material, is more than a little impressive. The movie isn't entirely perfect, as the fights against Roxie and The Twins are both slightly flawed.
However, the movie is close enough to perfection to warrant a 10. Brilliant acting, action, comedy, and romance.
