Review of Scoop (2006) by Matthew K — 06 Oct 2008
Scoop was witty, original, and well shot, with enough catchy dialog and a "cute" (I can't think of any other word) enough story to make it charming.
The cast is excellent, and Ms. Johansson and Mr. Jackman work very well together.
The movie was a breath of fresh air but...
Woody Allen can direct and write just fine, but for the love of God he needs to stop acting. His anxiety might amuse some, but it annoys the hell out of me. The movie would have been much better if I didn't think Woody Allen was having a seizure through out the whole damn.
Thing.
A good movie if you can get past the annoying antics of Mr. Allen. It gets 3 stars because he was such a weak link, but an extra half because Scarlett Johansson looked damn good in that bathing suit.
