Review of Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998) by Ibraheem M — 21 Nov 2014
One of the strongest, if not the best, Scooby-Doo features to come about. With real monsters being introduced for the first time, the execution is perfect and creates a powerful and creepy atmosphere. Packing both a decent story and beautiful animation, these elements blend superbly in creating the darkest adventure Mystery Inc.
experienced. Scott Innes, Billy West, Frank Welker (reprising his role as Fred), B.J Ward and especially Mary Kay Bergman all contribute brilliant voices which are perfect for the meddling kids and the dumb dog.
This incredible comeback for Scooby-Doo led on to the making of The Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders and Cyber Chase, for which all three are also worth watching. Even though the movies released after these lose the dark tone and gripping interest, let it not be forgotten of how strong of a comeback was made for bringing back Mystery Inc.
to a new generation.
