Review of Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004) by Maggie R — 13 Sep 2014
I have a soft spot for this film. I loved it when it originally came out and I haven't stopped enjoying this movie, even though it is not well liked. The CGI is terrible, but I do enjoy the story of this, how the foes they have vanquished come back to life and wreaks havoc in Coolsville.
The acting was done much better in this sequel than the original live action, Matthew Lillard was fabulous as Shaggy as always, Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar's chemistry was shown so much better in this film than the last and they had some scenes that really showed in depth emotion about the characters they were portraying which was sweet in a family movie type way.
I also did like who the villain turned out to be, it wasn't completely random like the original, it did have a bit of basis to it and the plot made a bit more sense.
