Review of School Ties (1992) by Jamison R — 16 Mar 2010
Showing this movie to my Sociology class right now and remembering how much I enjoyed it when I was in high school. Brendan Frasier is undeniably likable as David the Jewish kid that gets a chance to see how the other side lives and enjoys it, that is until he's outed.
Matt Damon is perfectly sinister as the white upper crust snob and Zeljko Ivanek is all kinds of evil as Mr. Cleary. Cameo appearance by Ben Affleck is neat, too. Watching this movie reminds me of the quality young actors that were around in the early '90s (as opposed to the '80s and '00s).
I'm so tired of nostagia for the Brat Pack when this group of actors is clearly superior. Long live the '90s!
