Review of Schizopolis (1997) by Timothy M — 18 Jul 2010
A bizarre piece of work that is fascinating in fits and starts, but tedious at other times. I'm surprised at how adept Soderbergh is to actually performing - he's quite fun to watch actually, and the writing is very witty and humorous.
Ultimately, while I think a lot of the ideas being brought to the table are fascinating and original, the film just doesn't really mesh in the way it needs to, and feels unsatisfying by the time it's over.
I'd like to see it again though, at some stage.
