Wow, what a heart-wrenching, emotional film. Schindler's List is one of Spielberg's best and it is a defining moment in cinematic history. The film is illustrated in black and white and this adds to the films classic atmosphere. Being filmed in many of the original locations makes the film feel real, which is rare. The films story line is a difficult subject to attempt but it is pulled off brutally yet elegantly.
Schindler's List is a lesson in history without taking advantage of a delicate subject. Neeson, Fiennes and Kingsley give spectacular performances that are definitely career defining.
Fear enshrouds the film but the power of hope shines through.
