Review of Schindler's List (1993) by Johnny S — 07 Aug 2014
Oskar Schindler (1908-1974) who plays by Liam Neeson was a promoter, a playboy and a Nazi in Krakow, Poland. In 1939, he seized the opportunity to make his fortune by arm-twisting several wealthy Jews from the ghetto into investing in a new factory that he would front.
The company was to make pots for the German war machine with Jewish slave labor. He was a success and did make a fortune, but it also forced him daily to witness the mindless cruelty and absolute horror of the Nazis.
His realization transformed him. Soon he was struggling to protect his workers, ultimately even purchasing 1100 Jews from the Nazis. 10 Oscar nominations, won the Best Picture.
