Review of Schindler's List (1993) by Patrick L — 10 Feb 2013
Schindler's List is a Steven Spielberg film about Oskar Schindler, a member of the Nazis, who used his position, power, influence and money to help save Jewish lives during World War 2 despite the dangers to his life. A shocking and hard to watch film based on the book about Oskar Schindler.
It shows us the ways that Oskar might have made contacts and spread his influence, life in the ghetto and in the factory and in camps. There is brutal violence and nudity and the immediacy of the film is like being transported back in time to the war - there is a mixture of languages and on the unfortunate side a mix of captions that appear, not everything is translated which does add to the realism of the film. A wealth of special features is on the dvd. 10/10.
