Schindler's List is a masterpiece. The brutality of the holocaust is dark and depressing and graphically realistic, yet weirdly compelling. It has loads of great scenes (Look for a scene where the guns do not shoot) and it's life-changing. Spielberg perfectly captures how brutal the Nazis were to the Germans and in the most realistic way possible, almost making it hard to watch. But, that's the beauty of it. We already know the horrors of the holocaust, but this ensures that we know that it's even worse than we oirginally thought.

Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes give some of the best performances of their career. Everybody give strong performances, but they stand out by a long shot.

Anyone to list flaws of Spielberg's directing, his predictability would be at the top of the list. This is the exact opposite with a story that continues to surprise.

This may be Spielberg's best movie and one of the best movies ever made. Highest of marks, for sure.
