Judging from the 3.7 stars grade here on IMDb, people didn't like this movie too much. This surprised me, since my guess would be that most users, especially those that go on the page of this movie, are probably under 30. I guess these people just don't understand or get the humor.

3.7 is way too low for this movie.

The fifth installment of the Scary Movie series starts of with Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan in bed, spoofing Paranormal Activity.

After that, Scary MoVie, just like the previous movies, spoofs other movies.

Movies that get spoofed are Mama, Paranormal Activity, The Cabin in the Woods, Black Swan and The Rise of the Apes.

After the first scene, we get to follow Mac Miller and Snoop Dogg walking through a forest, looking for a place that grows "the best marijuana". They are gonna go there, and leave. They are later seen running with a huge joint, that both are carrying. They then find a cabin, and a slightly tiresome dialog breaks out between Mac and Snoop, in which Snoop doesn't know what movie Mac is talking about when they are looking at a "Cabin in the Woods". They enter the house, and they find two girls, like in Mama where two little kids are found in a cabin in the woods.

Simon Rex and Ashley Tisdale portrays the parent characters of the horror movie Mama in Scary Movie 5. I personally am not a huge fan of Simon Rex's in this movie, as I think his humor and acting is a little bit too immature or whatever.

There are also a lot of guest stars in this movie, for example Lindsay Lohan as mentioned before, along with Snoop Dogg, Mac Miller, Usher, Katt Williams, Madea, Lil Duval, Sarah Hyland, Bow Wow and more. They make the movie a lot better, as it gives the movie variation and other positive things.

I can't remember the last time I laughed as much as I did during the scene where Sarah Hyland and Bow Wow along with two other actors, gets possessed (or something like that) while they are portraying the characters of the movie "The Cabin in the Woods", obviously in a cabin in the woods.

When it all comes down, I think Scary MoVie was one of the best ones so far in the series. If you've enjoyed the previous Scary Movie titles, you will most likely love this one. It gets kind of slow at times, and I personally didn't like the gorilla scenes too much. All the funny scenes made up for that though. There is no 6.5 star grade, but that's what I give it.
