Review of Scary Movie 3 (2003) by Ben E — 07 Aug 2010
I had mixed feelings about Scary Movie 3. It wasn't as good as the first Scary Movie, but a lot better than Scary Movie 2. This movie features a change in the series. It was the first one to be directed by David Zucker, instead of Keenan Ivory Wayans, and none of the wayans bothers are anywhere to be seen in this movie.
Also, the movie was toned down for a PG-13 rating as opposed to the R ratings of the previous 2 movies. I didn't mind this too much, as I was tired of seeing penises and other sexual scenes in the first two.
The movie still manages to be pretty funny, despite being PG-13. The movie also has a lot of big time actors and actresses, with some having major roles and others only having cameo appearances. Anna Faris and Regina Hall return as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, and are the only 2 actresses to return.
Like the other movies, this movie parodies many horror and some action movies, but primarily parodies The Ring, and Signs. If you are a fan of the Scary Movie series, or just like dumb comedies, check out Scary Movie 3.
However, if you watch this movie expecting it to be like the first 2, you might be disappointed.
