Review of Scary Movie (1991) by Eric N — 22 Mar 2015

They really slapped this crap together. I do enjoy a good spoof and that part of it was neat and nostalgic. I laughed a few times, I smiled a few times, but most of the jokes were too straight-forward and simple-minded and predictable. I think it's better to have no joke than one that falls flat.

And if you aren't familiar with late 90s movies especially two horror movies specifically, it would make no sense. But then look at "Hot Shots". Loved it all my life and to this day I've never seen "Top Gun" which it spoofs. And yet it's pricelessly funny and solid. THAT'S how it's done.
