Review of Scarlet Street (1945) by Alexandra W — 04 May 2010
While this rather racy little picture is not my favorite and moves rather slowly, it has many, many great aspects: domestic violence/pimping, long-lost husbands in eye patches, ridiculous modern art, deceit, jealousy, murder, descent into madness/homelessness.
Everything a girl could ask for.
Also, Joan Bennett oscillates from really good femme fatale to really hard-to-watch scenery chewer. Pretty fun all around.
