Review of Scarface (1983) by Muhammad A — 25 May 2013
Great n outstanding movie which was snubbed of it's Oscars n underrated in it's initial release. Of coz,wit Brian DE Palma directing a story 4rm Oliver Stone wit Al Pacino in the lead, the movie was destined 2 b one of the best 4rm Hollywood.
The movie was very engrossing n tense wit great performance from the actors from the moment it begins. It's a movie 4 filmmakers 2 learn 4rm.Sort of like Once Upon A Time In America. Classic movies have so much substance n quality tat movies nowadays lack.
Where did Al Pacino's,Michelle Pfeiffer's n Brian De Palma's Oscar nominations go? Al Pacino gave one of his best performance here. The way he talk, move n the way he gets angry, all of it felt powerful n slick.
His character was charismatic n volatile at the same time. Yet,he was only nominated for a Golden Globe. Tat's just nt fair. The story was great 2 wit lots of interesting twists n events in how he rises 2 power n hw it affects him.
A must watch 4 any movie lover.
