Review of Scarface (1983) by Adam S — 09 Aug 2013
"Say hello to my little friend." It's a phrase that has entered the lexicon of film lovers the world over, and that's a sure fire indication of the quality of this pulpy, ultra-violent gangster flick.
Building on De Palma's direction and a strong performance from an on-song Al Pacino, as well as strong supporting roles from Steven Bauer, Mary Elizabeth Mastranton and Michelle Pfeiffer.
It's a very long film, and at times does feel like it lacks direction, but once the climax is built towards, then all that and more can be forgiven. A true classic.
