Oh dear, this was all 80s synth music and over the top gory physical effects. Some people like that over CGI but this film makes it look like they are rubbing plasticine all over their faces.
Maybe I wasn't paying it enough attention but the story seems to jump all over the place and seems more interested in raising the body count than developing any sort of connection to the characters.
Michael Ironside plays a great evil bloke though, reminiscent of Jack Nicholson as the Joker.
