Review of Say Anything... (1989) by Itamar K — 20 Jul 2009
In its core it's a pretty basic teenage romantic comedy, but it shows early signs of the Cameron Crowe trademark qualities that make it go a step beyond that - smart dialog, memorable supporting characters, a great sense for pacing (that seems to come straight from Crowe's experience in the music business), and of course - a killer soundtrack.
Add to that the great on-screen chemistry of Cusack and Skye, and you get a simple but smart movie, that's easy to relate to and very easy to enjoy.
