Review of Say Anything... (1989) by Stuart M — 13 Dec 2012
Fairly generic except for the famous scene, and that's been imitated so often that it's lost all its power. Particularly noticeable for the horrid way in which they portray the likable father. Just when he seemed to be going beyond a stereotype they strip him of all character and slot him into the role they want him to fill.
