Review of Saw VI (2009) by Lucas M — 23 Oct 2010
Jigsaw has attacked many immoral people in his career, but this time he sets up a game for the biggest cheese of all, the American insurance companies.
This movie goes back to it's story style and focuses more personally on it's game victum. An insurance representative, who denied coverage for Jigsaw, now have go through a series of tests that expose what his job is really about, choosing who lives and dies. All the while jigsaws secret apprentice in in a heap load of shit as his exposure is coming closer and closer. This movie's new moral focus is fresh and entertaining, and the cop thriller theme continues showing some pretty cool investigation and medical methods that just goes to show you the FBI knows how to get things done.
Because, for some reason, people didn't like Saw V, Kevin Greutert is now in the directing chair. But Kevin still manages to create a good old classic Saw film with all it's wonderful editing, style, use of colours, and intense music. There are a few very exceptional scenes of suspence that are presented very well.
The Saw movies are holding up very well so far, always giving the audience what they want and yet always doing something a little different. The stories are never a waste as they expose a little more of Jigsaw's master plan. Saw VI story is exceptional, revealing Jigsaws final plan, and finishing with an unexpected and awesome climax.
