Review of Saw VI (2009) by Dov D — 22 Oct 2012
Every installment in the Saw franchise is so similar to the last that at this point, there is nothing I can really add to my analysis of these films; so instead, I'll say this, I > II > V > VI > IV > III > VII.
I will say this, the artistic aspirations of the production crew involved seemed to be revitalized this time around. The score, cinematography, character development, and general feel of this film were upgraded significantly.
The sixth didn't have the consistency of the fifth or the inspiration of the first two, but it did have flash and polish, which covered up much of the poor writing. Bottom line, this film is fairly entertaining, though inevitably meaningless.
