Review of Saw V (2008) by Paco D — 04 May 2010
I'm aware of all the bad reviews & speculations that were spread 'bout David Hackl's first project as a director.
But, if I may be the "odd man out"; this is without doubt the best Saw movie ever since they had to go on with the amaturistic police storyline from part IV.
Even though Charlie Clouser's score does remind us of a heavy metal concert full of long haired, not-for-oral hygiene-caring guys rocking in front of the stage, even though Costas Mandylor's getting quite boring, I have to say; watch. As a fan, you must get quite high from the originality of the traps that were made (the water cube!).
But ehm, there's a HUGHE plot mistake!
You remember the scene in Saw III, when Amanda brings Dr. Denlon in the room? Well, in Saw V you see Hoffman talking to Jigsaw in the same room, Hoffman leaves and 3 seconds after, Denlon enters with Amanda. BUT, Saw IV runs together with Saw III, and in Saw IV, Hoffman was tied to a chair...
Ring a bell?
