Review of Saw III (2006) by Daniel D — 02 Oct 2014
31 of 31 #4 "SAW 3 Unrated" released in 2006 - my second favorite SAW movie of them all, I love every single frame of this film, everything seems amped up, the traps are so elaborated this time one has to wonder if Jigsaw was not only an engineer but he might of had a background directing broadway shows, some traps have such perfect.
Lightning behind them and they reveal themselves in such a fashion its like TTAA DDAAA * jazz hands * and this movie introduced one of the greatest traps of all time...The Rack......I have wished several people to be strapped to this thing and just watch them twist like a pretzel.
Jigsaw is now really sick and he is mostly depending on Amanda to help, the traps all now revolve a guy who lost his son who got hit by a car and the people who had something to do with the accident are involved in the traps and its up to this guy to forgive and let go........brilliant.....I often wonder if I was that guy and someone I loved gets killed and the people who had something to do with it would all of a sudden in situations where I would.
Choose if they lived or died.....would one death be enough ??? would all of them dead be enough ??? absolutely love the idea behind the plot - one of my all time favorites from the series.
This movie has the feel of a trilogy coming to an end, it pretty much takes out all the main characters in the series and it does have a fantastic little twist at the end that I have always loved, it feels like its all going out with a massive bang.
This is probably the highest point the series will ever reach for me as things started to get a little strange after this one.
FINAL WORDS FOR SAW 3.
Best Trap: The Rack - I need this thing in my life to strap people who deserve to be in it.
Best Death: Lynn Denlon....I mean....its the mother of all shotgun shells blasts.
Moment that made me go WTF ?? Probably Amanda's turn towards the end, I had high hopes for this character to keep the franchise going using the philosophies of Jigsaw...sighs...alas...not meant to be.
