Review of Saw III (2006) by David S — 27 Oct 2016
Victim to the franchise's stigma following the brilliance of the first movie, Saw III struggles to capture what was inspiring in the first and capitalizes on the gore instead. By doing so, it lacks any true ingenious moments of suspense or trying moments, and becomes a celebration of how brutal a killing can be.
Losing any character, Saw III has become a "Hostel"; infatuated with blood and pain, flashing scenes and hyped moments that result in anti-climaxes and predictability.
