Review of Saw II (2005) by Ozzdeath S — 02 Oct 2014
31 of 31 #3 "SAW 2 Unrated" released in 2005 - the sequel nobody asked for lol. At this point only fans of the franchise went and supported this thing, there's really no changes to the formula, we have traps, we have deaths and we have a New Kid On The Block - Donnie Wahlberg....well this thing certainly wants us hanging tough, or perhaps we will get the right stuff or even worse....we have to take this movie step by step.
So we are now following detective please dont go girl as he is now the person whose entire life mission is to capture Jigsaw, we see a little story about how he is divorced and he is nothing but a total shit father to his son DDDAAANNNIIIEEELLLL !!!! And we have people stuck in a game, and the son of detective cover girl is one of them ( dramatic music ).
Now, the best part of this whole movie, is the fact that we see Jigsaw talk and articulate and actually become a real character and this is when for me Jigsaw became as interesting as Freddy Krueger, a unique personality and just a mellow slow delivery with his lines, we are looking at a guy who knows he is going to die and has no need to speed up, its totally a highlight for me, even more so than all the traps and all the gore.
Shawnee Smith as Jigsaw's apprentice, I like the idea behing that ending.....too bad we know better how that end up in the next movie lol.
FINAL WORDS FOR SAW 2.
Best Trap: The pit of syringes, that scene was amazing, one of the few things that made me say - holy shit thats awesome when Amanda landed on those things - still makes me smile.
Best Death: I did like the person who gets a face full of spikes at the start of the movie.
Moment that make me go WTF am I watching: Marky Mark's brother screaming DDDAAANNNIIIEEELLLL !!!! over and over in the final act.
