Review of Saw (2004) by Elian D — 31 Jul 2012
For all its shortcomings, it is a pretty good film. Elwes acting is at its worst, on par only with Whannel, but the rest of the cast is adequate; but the story is good, and the script is mostly solid (though the dialogs suck).
It keeps the tension and the ending is one of the best you'll ever see.
It is certainly sad that none of the six installments that followed did it any justice. Then again, they shoulnd't have been made (though I like most of them anyway).
