A genre changing film with a fantastic twist. Stop calling this film the entrance for the "torture porn" sub-genre, those were the shameless sequels with no where near as much heart for suspense and writing as this original.
This was the much needed start for James Wan and Leigh Whannell, a perfect entrance into the horror business.
