Review of Saving Silverman (2001) by Rachel K — 14 Dec 2007
This is one of those middle-weight comedies that was made for cable networks' Sunday lineups. Why? Because it's so inconsistent, you can change the channel at regular intervals and not miss much.
That's not to say Saving Silverman is a terrible film. It breaks down like this: all of the parts that focus on Jack Black and Steve Zahn are funny while all of the parts that focus on Jason Biggs are incredibly dull and boring.
The cameo appearance by Neil Diamond at the end of the movie is insanely predictable (you can see it coming within the first 3 minutes) but is pretty entertaining anyway.
