Review of Saving Private Ryan (1998) by Andrew B — 20 Jan 2013
Among the most harrowing of all great war films, Saving Private Ryan is easily the defining WWII flick and perhaps the most unflinchingly realistic depiction of conflict ever put on film. Every performance is strong, the camerawork is groundbreaking and the sound design is truly immersive and completely brilliant.
The only reason the film really suffers is because it's been ripped off so much since it's release.
