Violent and often strange technically, it still holds up as an all time favorite of mine. What truly pushes it over the top are the stark, haunting performances of Hanks, Edward Burns, Giovanni Ribisi, and Barry pepper in contrast with the light-hearted turn by Tom Sizemore who steals the film by its end.
