Review of Saving Private Ryan (1998) by Jesse Z — 06 Aug 2013
In lieu of other reviews I'v written such as Full Metal Jacket and Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan isn't a good movie from an entertainment standpoint, but more from a historical learning standpoint.
The film has some horrifying depictions of war throughout, and I admit it's pretty hard to watch. And I'm not sure if it's based off true events or not, but the plot is really good and does a scary good job at showing soldiers affected by war.
