This is truly one of Spielberg's best, if not one of the best war films ever made. Starting off in the bloody battle of D-Day on Omaha Beach, this is a visceral, heart-breaking, and most powerful war film in years.
Tom Hanks delivers yet another fantastic performance in the lead role, with many other greats like Matt Damon in the supporting cast. Spielberg's amazing talent comes through completely with this WWII epic.
If you want to see a realistic re-telling of one of the most horrific days in war, then look no further.
