After a truly haunting opening sequence, Saving Private Ryan sails along as an excellent war movie (yet another fantastic Tom Hanks performance) and is arguably one of Spielburgs best as well. With a strong ending - and one of the most grizzly non-horror openings ever, Saving Private Ryan never stops once for a breather.
Verdict: A+.
