Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Carolyn G — 19 Apr 2014
I adore Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks has found a nice niche of the amiable every man. This film is very charming and deep at the same time. Working through old wounds in art is not a new story but it is most well done in this movie.
The verbal sparring is a joy to watch, Paul Giamatti is amazing (as usual) and the entire arc of the softening of Travers is engaging and Emma is spot on in her performance.
