Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Frances H — 02 Aug 2014
The script is full of great lines, Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson give great performances and the story is a pleasant fable, as is their characterization of Walt Disney as a lovable, wise tycoon (do those two adjectives go with that noun?) and it makes a good movie, if you don't mistake movies for reality.
But Walt Disney in America comes second only next to God, so the fairy tale of the making of Mary Poppins is as it is, and it does make a good movie.
