Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Chris K — 14 Aug 2014
A stupendous feel-good film, wonderfully edited and filled with fantastic performances, Saving Mr. Banks is the true story of the birth of a beloved Disney Classic, Mary Poppins. Tom Hanks plays a great Walt Disney, Emma Thompson's performance is spitfire and funny, and the rest of the cast (including Jason Schwartzman, BJ Novak, Paul Giamatti and more) is absolutely excellent.
The emotional elements are great and resonated with me (especially growing up with Mary Poppins). An overall great film that starts off a little rickety but through fantastic performances and excellent editing Saving Mr.
Banks stands tall and wonderfully emotional.
