Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Raji K — 30 Aug 2014
Saving Mr. Banks depicts the writer of the Mary Poppins books P.L. Travers played by (Emma Thompson) is in somewhat of a bind for money and has finally decided to hear about Walt Disney's many requests to make her books into a motion picture.
The character dear to her heart has her very demanding and controlling much to the despair of Disney and his staff. This all depicts the actual events that occurred when making the film Mary Poppins and I believe does so in an amazing way.
In a Disneyesque manner the film somewhat immortalizes the role of Walt in the entire production including depicting her loving the premiere at the end. Despite this, Saving Mr. Banks is a magical film that really has excellent performances and does its best to try and embody all that Walt Disney stood for and tries to uphold to this day.
