Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Joel H — 15 Sep 2014
Saving Mr. Banks offers an interesting viewpoint of how Mary Poppins was made into a movie, but unfortunately, I didn't really care about the characters. Emma Thompson does a fantastic job, because I couldn't stand P.
L. Travers, and I felt like Tom Hanks' Walt Disney is just another smooth salesman trying to pull one over on Mrs. Travers and close the deal. It's fascinating to see how much drama there was behind the scenes, but I'd rather watch the actual Mary Poppins Disney film.
