Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Wayne M — 25 Dec 2014
Uninspiring and typical Disney fodder. All the edges have been taken off and in the end the film about a film is rather dull and way too long. The struggles between Walt Disney and P. L. Travers over the making of Mary Poppins should make for potentially a great film.
This just isn't it. And Emma Thompson is flat out annoying (I'm assuming she was meant to be). And the flashback scenes don't work as well as they could have. Light fare, OK for DVD watching, but not much more.
