Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Spencer K — 26 Dec 2014
This movie works the best when scene stealers Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson are on screen. seeing the process behind one of Disney's most beloved films fold out on screen before us (however some of it may not be all true) is a delight.
I especially thought this film worked when Thompson's character is in the Disney studios basically saying what can and cannot be in her film. those scenes made the entire movie for me and brought the good factor way up.
I was a little lost and disctracted in the flashback scenes but with Colin Farrel's giving one of his best performances of his career helps lighten it a bit. overall, it's a very fun, delightful film with great performances, with good direction and a good script even if some of it may not be entirely true.
